About me

Hello, my name is Xiaohui Dai

and my English name is Daisy.

Personality and Interests

I am an outgoing and challenge-loving person who enjoys acquiring new knowledge and adapting to different environments. I have a passion for reading, especially books on education, psychology, and sociology. I believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about unlocking human potential and shaping ways of thinking.
Additionally, I love traveling and immersing myself in the culture, history, and local atmosphere of different cities. So far, I have explored most cities in the UK, from the bustling urban scenery of London to the ancient castles of Edinburgh, each with its own unique charm. I have also traveled to Spain, where I experienced the artistic brilliance of Gaudí in Barcelona and the royal elegance of Madrid, deeply appreciating the richness of European culture. Next, I plan to visit France and Italy to explore these two culturally profound and breathtakingly beautiful countries.

My Hometown

Yangzhou, a cultural city with over 2,500 years of history, is located in the    central part of Jiangsu Province, China, at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal. It is renowned not only for its deep historical heritage but also for its exquisite gardens, culinary delights, and relaxed lifestyle.

Yangzhou is one of the birthplaces of Huaiyang cuisine, known for its light, fresh flavors and delicate knife skills. Some of its most famous dishes include Yangzhou Fried Rice and Da Zhu Gan Si (Braised Shredded Tofu in Broth). Additionally, the city’s intangible cultural heritage, such as Yangzhou block printing, lacquerware, and jade carving, showcases its rich artistic traditions.

Educational Background

I completed my undergraduate degree through a 3+1 program: the first three years in Changzhou, China, studying Early Childhood Education, which provided me with a solid foundation in child development, teaching methods, and educational psychology. In my final undergraduate year, I went to the University of Hertfordshire in the UK to study Education, where I gained a deeper understanding of different educational systems and their integration.

Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in International Perspectives in Education at Newcastle University, UK. With a cross-cultural perspective, I aim to explore more inclusive and high-quality education models that can benefit learners worldwide.

Thank you for watching and hope to make friends with you!
