Reflections on TPACK Audio:
The application of AI in innovative teaching
1. Introduction
TPACK, or Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, is a framework for the integration of technology in the classroom. The TPACK framework is a helpful guide to providing students with a high-quality educational experience, when technology is incorporated in the classroom (Celik, 2023).
Three Core Components of TPACK:
1. Content Knowledge (CK)
• Refers to a teacher’s understanding of a specific subject.
2. Pedagogical Knowledge (PK)
• Refers to a teacher’s understanding of instructional methods and strategies, including classroom management, lesson planning, and how students learn.
3. Technological Knowledge (TK)
• Refers to a teacher’s understanding of various technological tools (e.g., interactive whiteboards, educational software, online platforms) and their effective use in teaching.
The Intersections of TPACK:
1. Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)
The integration of pedagogy and content knowledge.
2. Technological Content Knowledge (TCK)
The integration of technology and content knowledge.
3. Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK)
The integration of technology and pedagogy.
4. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)
The highest level of integration, where teachers effectively combine technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge to create meaningful learning experiences.
2. Interest
In this audio clip, teachers not only need to master technology tools, but also need to understand how to integrate technology tools with subject content and teaching methods to enhance student learning. In about five minutes, I discussed the importance of online teacher communities and proposed a community inquiry model that emphasized social, cognitive, and instructional existence. I was very interested in this and searched for other materials to deepen my understanding.
3. Reflection
As an important theoretical framework, TPACK provides ideas for us to understand how teachers can effectively integrate technology, teaching methods and subject content knowledge in the information age. However, in practical application, teachers and researchers still need to work together to give full play to the due value of TPACK and give it a more practical and feasible operation path through continuous practice, reflection and research (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). So as to truly improve the teaching quality and students' deep learning experience.
